'Twas the night before weigh in....and all remains well

So after my dimwitted day yesterday I was hoping when I got up this morning not only would I feel more human I would else have less than a dimwitted day. Unfortunately I'm still feeling rough and managed to try and open the front door without taking the chain off and then leave the car keys in the car door instead of putting them in the ignition....an important factor when you want to drive the car. I did manage to drive myself into work and parked up. I generally park about a 10/15 minute walk away so I wombled my way down to work and spotted this

A row of red bull cars...not a normal thing to see in the morning especially in a hotel carpark. Maybe there was some sort of energy drink convention going on.

Apart from the bizarre start to the day it turned into a good day. As I have said before I am enjoying my job and the people I work with. I was told today that I had received some really good feedback and as a reward I got this

I've read the instructions and they seem easy enough so hopefully I won't kill it (Rachel Reeves if your reading this hun you will know I always try not to kill plants....even if they are plastic ones).

Before I get into the food of the day I just wanted to discuss my lovely Mitchy with you.

The scales have been evil to her recently as you may know if you follow her blog (The slimmingworld files) yet she never deviates from the plan. She never has a f@#k it day where she goes off plan despite this and today got rewarded with a 9lb loss. People will ask her what her secret is and there is none its all in the book. I am so proud of her not just because of the amazing figures on the scales but her sheer willpower and determination to stick to it when the scales are evil. For anyone struggling to stick on plan just read through this lovely ladies blog it will inspire you.

A special kind of day....subtitle me being a dimwit

Today I have been a special type of dimwit I have managed to break my fork whilst eating my lunch....and sending the pointy bits flying across the break room. I tried to open a door without swiping my pass. I forgot to log out of break so sat there wondering why I was getting no calls through and finally and possibly the most idiotic I poured water over myself. I know I wanted a drink but I didn't need to wear it!

I should have guessed that there may have been something wrong as when I got home from walking Doug I suddenly felt unwell and got ordered to go sit down and rest by Rich. Not sure what is up except for feeling like my battery has drained. Hopefully with a good nights sleep it will pass! Due to this I'm going to make this a short blog tonight.

Food Diary

Breakfast

Overnight oats with layers of porridge oats (HEB) banana, kiwi and strawberries (SF) and yogurt (F).

Snack

Grapes (SF)

Lunch

Breakfast quiche (mix of 1 syn, F and SF) and rice salad (SF and F)

Dinner

Courtesy of my lovely Rich and his help keeping me on plan despite feeling rubbish. It is courgettes, onions and mushrooms fried off then added to pasta. He stirred in a tub of low low (HEA and HEB) and then he topped it with 25g of low fat cheese (4 syns). It was gorgeous you can't fault cheesy pasta especially when its lovelingly prepared by your other half

Pudding

Nice nana and low fat chocolate mousse (3.5) taking my total to 8.5 for the day.

I am now heading to bed to get rid of the ick feeling for another day tomorrow

Purple potatoes - tales from the brown sofa

My plan for this evening was to get this blog done much earlier however I continue to be distracted by The White Queen which I have finally got around to watching and got very quickly hooked on. It is a period of history I do not know a great deal about but I can see myself getting quite hooked on it.

Today has been quite a lazy day I got up and sorted the boys out and laughed as they began they first of many wrestling matches. Doug seems to have got used to having Dudley here and was having great fun playing. We took the boys out for a nice walk this morning then spent the rest of the day cuddling and playing.

Apart from that I did plan to do some reading today though didn't get as much done as I planned as kept getting distracted/

I have managed another good day on plan despite having a minor issue with an evil little devil trying to convince me that I wanted takeaway. Luckily the angel on the other shoulder kicked the devil off and I did not even succumb so I can polish my halo.

Food Diary

Breakfast

An aldi sub roll (HEB plus 1.5) with two slices of low low cheese (HEA) quorn sausages (F) and mushrooms (SF). I love the sub rolls and they make a good breakfast sub.

Along with about 4 litres of water I had coffee using skimmed milk (HEA) and a sugar free monster.

Four days of being good under my belt and back to work in the morning. I've got my noms prepared and remembered to pack my cutlery.

Pug Pug Pug Pug Pug Pug Pugathon.....and rain

I guess today we got what we have been wanting the rains came...stupid wet rain that hasn't really cooled down the temperature a great deal though the thunder that seems to be brewing may help a bit.

Today has been a relatively busy day in the Cadman Pursey householdas we have had an adorable houseguest in the shape of another pug my friend Elizabeth's little man Dudley

It's been pretty fun having two pugs around the house, lots of cute running and playing. Rich helped me with walking duty today as we didn't know how it was going to be walking two dogs....Doug was his normal angelic self and Dudley was funny he kept jumping about and generally enjoying the walk. We did just over a mile with the boys and they seemed to enjoy it

Once we got back we settled down for a bit of a rest before I went out, Rich has been successfully playing his game x-com and the boys helped him out strategising.

This evening I popped out for a few hours to celebrate the birth of my lovely friend Jen which involved me making a deadly cocktail for her and hopefully her head won't be killing her tomorrow. I have a feeling my hen do with be the night of her revenge!

Food wise I am still in control and feeling good about it! Some of the food I have had today makes me happy to be on slimming world right now.

Food diary

Breakfast

Slimming world fry up with quorn low fat sausages (F) quorn bacon (1.5 for two slices) mushrooms and tomatoes (SF) and moshi monsters spaghetti shapes (F). I also had some toast on the side (HEB) which went down well.

Snack

A bowl of strawberries, banana and grapes (SF) with a yogurt (F)

Dinner part 1

Two quorn red onion and beef style burgers (F) on a white roll (7.5) and tomato sauce (1) and two tomatoes (SF). I went for worst case scenario on the roll even though it was a small one.

Dinner part 2

Once I got home I was still a bit peckish and had another HEB left so decided to have some cheesy chips (F and HEB)

So naughty yet not naughty. It definitely hit the spot. Syn wise I had 11.5 syns today so slightly over the 10 I normally like to have but it was worth it.

Drinks

Multiple coffees with skimmed milk (HEA), water and pepsi max.

Three days on the trot on plan now and feeling nicely focused. Already looking forward to the scales this week!

Fancy a biscuit....no I have an apple....a story of a girls battle against the monsters of the biscuit kingdom

Don't worry I won't sing the song...I am just happy it's Friday! I have a weekend full of puppy sitting a gorgeous pug and celebrating my lovely Jen's birthday. Today has been a pretty good uneventful day. Work was relatively quiet except for the final hour and once we were free from work we had boring chores to do namely go shopping but we did pick up  new bed for Doug after I ruined the other one...

This evening we have settled down to our Friday routine of a movie and seeing as I am feeling in control I didn't even feel the need to go mad on the sweet treats. I just hope this saintliness continues for the rest of the week but so far day 2 of being on the purple bus is complete and has been a success.

Food Diary

Breakfast

Breakfast deja vu but I do love Dorset simply fruity muesli (HEB) this time I had some frozen summer fruit and a banana (SF)  along with yogurt (F)

Snack

It's shopping day so we were dangerously low on supplies so I had an apple (SF)

Lunch

Salad (SF) with quorn roast fillets (0.5 per half pack). The quorn roast fillets are a new discovery for me and they are really tasty. I was on a different lunch than my workmates today so I used to time efficiently by reading.

Mid afternoon snack

My friend Claire came to the rescue mid afternoon when the munchies happened and the only available food appeared to be biscuits. I had spent most of the day ignoring the biscuits even when I was teased by the three people on our pod who were showing me the biscuits whilst on a call. I managed to resist and polished my halo by taking Claire up on her offer of an apple (SF)

Cue picture of another apple....

Dinner

Look who has decided to make an appearance tonight after my food as normal. Tonight I decided to make Mitchy curry (called this because the lovely Mitchy gave me the recipe and whilst I have adapted it mainly because I keep forgetting to get the yogurt it will forevermore be called this). Now imagine my excitement tonight when I realised I still had an HEA and HEB left! I decided to have some nimble (HEB) with 1 level tbsp of flora extra light (1.5) to go with the curry. The curry is so simple it is a can of chopped tomatoes (SF) a can of chickpea dahl (F if using a syn free one like asda's) and curry powder to taste. You just mix that together. I added mushrooms and courgettes (SF) to mine whilst Rich had some chicken. I made the sw chips to go with it (F) and it was gorgeous. I certainly enjoyed the bread and used it to great effect mopping up the sauce.

As I had an HEA left also I had a monster coffee made with 350ml of skimmed milk (HEA) and the douwe egberts chocolate coffee (F)  which is gorgeous. It's by far my favourite out of the flavoured coffees.

Movie snack

Whilst I managed to resist the biscuits during work hours I did pick up a pack of oreo cookies to have during our movie. One oreo biscuit is 2.5 syns and there are two in the pack. The banana (SF) and tootsie roll (2.5) were yummy too and took me to a nice total of 9.5 syns for the day.

Drinks

My usual bucket load of coffee using 350ml of skimmed milk throughout the day (HEA) and about 4 litres of water again I lost count but I had many visits to the throne of contemplation so I guess I drunk a lot.

All in all I am super proud of myself as this is day 2 and okay its only been two days but there was massive biscuit shaped temptation all day which did include gorgeous shortbread and a vending machine stocked with crisps and chocolate but instead I had apples which are much nicer....honest! Okay so tonight I may dream I am being chased by biscuits but it will be funny and possibly less disturbing than some dreams I could have.

A fresh start

So yet again I seem to have been struggling sticking on the plan and the blog has gone by the wayside because of it. I wish I knew what had changed in my head but recently it has felt like a real battle to stay on the bus and not fall off at the earliest chance. So I made a decision last night I would go to weigh in and I would see what the results were and then this morning would be a fresh start and I'd go right back to basics. Pretend like I have not done the plan before and its all new...check everything and remind myself why I walked through the doors in the first place.

So why did I walk through those doors...I did it because I could barely walk without struggling for breath and I was bursting out of size 26 clothes. The clothes I wanted to wear didn't come in my size and I was living in sweatpants and t shirts  I didn't like myself visually and wanted to change it. I knew slimming world worked and when we moved house I tagged along with a friend. Okay so I have gone down a fair few dress sizes now and I can start wearing the clothes I want but I still want to lose more and get healthier so I need to remember what made me join.

I have promised myself that this time I will stay on the bus...I want to go back to being unbudgeable from the plan. This doesn't mean I will be a saint as we all have events that mean we are flexible but there is a difference between between being flexible and then just eating junk for the sake of it. I am also going to stop neglecting my blog its about time I am fully honest and blog daily where possible as when I blog I find it easier....I will need you guys cheering me on.

Last night I managed to lose a lb and looking back on what I've eaten it wasn't awful it just wasn't perfect. I did not deserve it at all and it makes me very aware when I have a good friend someone I consider one of my BFF's who despite being an angel is in a yoyo cycle. She deserved that lb loss and I wish I could donate it. Next week though if I get a loss I will deserve it as I am have made a promise to myself and I dont want to break it.

So how was my first day of being a season ticket holder of the big purple bus? Pretty darn good...I'm quite a happy little munchkin at the moment. I am really enjoying my job and work with genuinely lovely people. After what happened I was a bit nervous but we have a right laugh and I love walking through the door of there.

I have decided to change up the food diary portion of the blog so here goes (SF means superfree, F means free, HEB is healthy extra b and HEA is healthy extra a)
